About the program
Description

The main objectives of the program are:

  • Preserving Spanish as part of our cultural identity

  • Developing oral and written skills in academic and professional contexts

  • Integrating formal registers into oral and written

  • Increasing  academic and professional vocabulary

  • Developing command of the Spanish language grammar

This program is organized in three modules of 30 hours each:

Module 1, Module 2, and Module 3

In each module, participants practice their oral and written skills through the analysis and discussion of a variety of texts (informational, scientific, literary, etc.)that  contribute to the development of vocabulary and grammar.

Our program invites participants to reflect on the role of the language we speak and the contexts in which we use it (personal, social and professional). Therefore, special attention is given to the varieties of the Spanish language, including the Spanish in the United States.

Each module is taught once a week in the spring and the fall, and twice a week in the summer. Dates and days for courses are available under the section CALENDAR.

All courses are open subject to enrollment (at least four students per course).

Transcripts are sent electronically once coursework has ended.
