This course is for people who have never taken Spanish before. The class starts with an introduction to the Spanish language (pronunciation, basic grammar) and moves towards basic interactions (oral and written) between doctors, staff and patients.

Activities in class include: small group practice for vocabulary and grammar, role plays and simulations doctor-patient/staff-patient.

This course is for people who have taken one or two courses of Spanish in high school or college. The class starts from a review of basic structures (present indicative) and moves towards narrating and describing in the past through more elaborate interactions between doctors, staff and patients.

Activities in class include: small group practice for vocabulary and grammar, role plays and simulations doctor-patient/staff-patient.

This course is for people who can narrate and describe events in past tense (oral and written) and for those who have learned the structures but are a little bit rusty. The class starts with a review of past tenses and moves towards the use of subjunctive and commands through more advanced interactions in the healthcare setting.

Activities in class include: small group practice for vocabulary and grammar, group discussion on relevant medical/patient topics, in addition to simulations doctor-patient/ staff-patient.

Spanish Physical Exam Skills. Two sessions are available; content is the same in each session.
This workshop is specifically geared toward practicing vocabulary and phrases necessary to complete a physical exam. The first three sessions are in the classroom and the final session is in the Clinical Education Center.
